What is DT?
Our Dedicated and Talented Program (DT) is designed for the serious dance student who possesses a desire to make dance training a priority, along with their academic responsibilities. Our goal is to give students the foundation for success. We hope to see our students excel in the future with acceptance into the finest colleges, universities and conser
vatories available whether they choose dance as a life goal or not. The self-reliance and determination necessary for the individual to reach their fullest potential are necessary to flourish in the DT Program. Our focus is on dedication, proper work ethic, the spirit of teamwork and other qualities needed to enhance every student's future.
Dancers in the DT Program truly love to dance and have the confidence, desire and passion to achieve individual success within the group dynamic. We look for our students to find a measure of success in every class, rehearsal and performance. Ballet is the foundation of good dance training. Dancers who dislike ballet may not find the DT Program their best avenue for success and may not want to pursue this program.
Every child is an individual and will be treated as such. When we refer to the average dancer in a group, it is just that. Every child develops at his or her own pace. We place students in groups based on many criteria including, but not limited to: technique, adaptability, responsibility, maturity and attitude. We will keep a watchful eye on the students throughout the year to measure their progress first against themselves and subsequently with others in the group. Placement is always made with consideration for the student's best interest.
